Thank you for posting this information.  I'm quoting it to make it easier
for others to find it in case they missed it.
 
I am still in shock that someone could do this.  Last night I held our
Koosh (a rare event -- he's an angora who never sleeps).  I just listened
to him breath and felt his warmth on my legs.  I cried, thinking about
that little ferret who was brutally murdered.  I felt the joyous weight
of caring for a living creature and wondered how anyone could not feel
the connection I was feeling at that moment.  It's the same feeling I
get when I hold a human baby -- the trust, the life.  I hope I never
understand how a person (term used loosely) could abuse that trust,
could harm an animal.
