Comcerning the food diggers- my male, Smudge used to do that until I got a
Parrot Food Dish.  It is ceramic, all one piece with a hood over the top and
it attaches to the cage.  The opening is big enough for him to get his head
in, but not his feet for digging.  Ha Ha! So far, this is one time where I
outsmarted him!  I've had this for several months now, and he has yet to
figure out how to dig the food out.
