Concerning cutting the quick in a nail-
Wayne, it's usually not that big of a problem.  If it happens, put a dab of
corn starch or flour on the nail and the bleeding will stop.  If the cut is
worse than a nick, you may need styptic pencil, but that can sting.  Pet
shops carry Kwick-Stop which is a yellow powder for just that very thing
(nicking the quick) but corn starch works fine.  Good luck!
