dear ferrets and fanatics,

i recently received from the afa an order form for various ferret products.
it contained a blurb about the book "ferrets in your home" by THE LATE dr.
wendy winsted. i must admit that i was stunned. her book was the first
thing i bought after i adopted my first ferret, and i clung to it as a
lifesaver, so to speak.

as i've become a wiser and more mature ferret-lover, i've realized that her
book contains a lot of outdated info. i always wondered why she didn't
update it. now, sadly, i know why.

can anyone update me on dr. winsted's circumstances after her book was
published? i'm saddened at the thought of her fate. apparently she was
instrumental in de-myth-icizing the domestic ferret. and what really
saddens me is the thought of her two children losing their mom. (weren't
they two of the cutest little kids you have ever seen?)

i was going to write about some other ferret stuff, but i think i'll wait
until tomorrow.

and sally, alvin, dweezil, and sparky (ferrets)
and joshua, misty, raven, and flossie (felines)
