To the person that enquired about how Rupert [the orangish secretions]
is doing [Steve?]:

Still the same, the vitamin suppliment seems to have no effect. Regarding
the "no hair to wick the wax away", it's a catch 22. I don't think the
excess build up of wax is due to the hair loss [thinning out would describe
it better], the wax seems to build up first, stain his entire undersides
yellow, then the hair thin's out. Mind you, it is only in patches that
the hair loss is noticible. ie: His entire belly is not bald, just several
patches of EXTREMELY thin hair covered areas. Sure is strange having a
"yellow" ferret. Anyone have ANY suggestions? A shampoo removes the
accumulated waxy secretions, but doesn't seem to "unstain" the fur. I have
even tried using "tear stain remover" on it--to no avail. Surely I
can't be the *ONLY* person to ever experience this?!? Is Rupert to be
considred a mutant ferret forever? It's such a shame, he was a
beautiful silver/white color, now he is two tone... silver/white on top
with a yellow underside [Sounds like an option for new car buyers]. I
suppose I could put green buckles in his fur to match the yellow ;-)
