Dear FML Friends,

I have just come back from a Ferret Meet up at Ferretwise Rescue and
Rehab in Marlborough, NH. today, Saturday, July 16. We had such a
wonderful time; I thought I would share it with you all. We had a
Stuffing Bee, not unlike the old Husking Bee's only this time, we worked
on the Shelter Newsletter, ate great food, and swapped ferret stories.

We started the Stuffing Bee with a pot luck, and we "stuffed" ourselves
with Dino's famous hamburgers right off the grill. This was followed by
venison, marinated in Greg's special sauce and cooked to perfection while
we waited. The Southern Belle in the group, Renee, baked beans, New
England style and topped the pot with think slices of bacon. Shelter Dad
Dino made his famous Chocolate Cake, smooth and velvety, and dripping
with cherries in sauce. We washed it all down with your choice of soda,
water, or fruit punch, laced with fresh spearmint leaves and wild black
raspberries.

After lunch, we all went inside in the AC and folded, labeled, stuffed,
stamped, and sealed the newsletter. We swapped stories about our
ferrets, sipped more punch, and drew numbers for the door prize.

We had the best time, and I just had to share it with all of you. As
you know, only another ferret person wants to hear about how your super
ferret dumped your mother-in-laws plant three days in a row. Only
another ferret person would want to hear that story twice. Only another
ferret person, (we are the ones with the pointy little faces) knows how
upset you can get when you have a sick ferret, or when one leaves for the
Rainbow Bridge. And only another ferret person understands why you have
to get it all done and get home in time for meds.

This might be something we could do on a quarterly basis to help Alicia
with one of her chores. The many hands and the laughter and jokes had
the whole job done so fast we were sorry to see it end. It sure was fun.

Marilyn and the gang at Ledoux Hospice - Home again, with great memories
and five extra pounds. But, it was worth every ounce.
