Bob, I'm sorry to say that Hawaii is an FFZ -- Ferret-Free Zone.  Carpet
sharks are ILLEGAL in Hawaii, and not likely ever to be legalized. :-(
 
[ I *think* that although ferrets can't be sold in Hawaii they are not
  illegal to own.  But they must be quarantined for some ridiculous
  length of time (a year?) before you can take them home.  Not sure
  though.  BIG ]
