I read with anticipation the post by John and Dianne. Then I re-read it.
AND re-read it again. They forgot the EXCITING NEWS. What was the result
of the BAT study? Many of us need to know this information ASAP. We have a
legislative meeting this Sunday, October 26th and that tidbit of rabies info
is desperately needed. Others needs it as well. Did you send the post
before you finished typing it because you got interupted?

Please at least post a summary of the results. Did the ferrets shed the
virus? If so, was it before showing symptoms and if so how many days?

For all of us in KILL states WE NEED THIS DATA ASAP! This isn't something
to keep to yourself. AFA has always been helpful when I've needed them. I
can't believe this organization would want to keep this information to
themselves at the risk of ferret lives. Each day there is a delay, another
ferret may be killed and tested because the ferret might have been bitten by
a bat. Is Michigan still killing and testing 2 ferrets a week? Not
dissemintation this life-saving data would obstruct others in their battle
to save precious ferret lives.

Unfortunately I could not attend the conference. I have several ferret
situations that require my assistance and could not get away. Many others
also were unable to attend the conference. Should I have let living
breathing desperately in need ferrets suffer to attend this conference to
obtain the data? Of course not.

This information is not a 'secret' to be kept. It is a treasure to share
with the entire ferret community for the welfare of all ferrets everywhere.

Hugs. tle
