I, too, sent off a letter to Purina about the Proplan formula.  I've
never used it -- never even heard of it --until y'all mentioned it.
however, I figure that if it helps a few of our fuzzies, perhaps we
could all rally and start buying the stuff?  That might at the VERY
least persuade Purina to consider a line of the stuff for ferrets.  I'm
certainly FOR anything that can save the lives of another ferret kid!

I'm a big food mixer for my fuzzies...and I'd be happy to buy some to
mix in with their current food.  After all, if they like it, I could
use it in chicken soup if/when they become ill at a later date -- and
it could help save a life or three.

What do the rest of you think?

[Moderator's note: Actually, they DO make Purina Ferret Chow.  Or well,
they DID... it's known by another name now.  It's meant mainly for labs
and zoos though about 20 years ago they tried marketing it to consumers.
The stuff was really bad.  I had a bucket of it and kept the bucket for
the novelty of it.  Their newer stuff is a bit better at first glance:
