This is Susie Lee for the Ferret And Dove Sanctuary, Inc. with our
tribute to Falcor LuckDragon Ferret.

Falcor Luckdragon has been written of, before, in his deeds of knightly
chivalry with regards to his life-time lady-ferret-friend, Katie O'Cato
Ferret, who survives him. He was a staunch friend and protector of
Katie's and an enthusiastic dook-a-lot and bounce-a-lot player right
up to the day-before his Passage. On that day, he inexplicably slowed
down to barely moving and we noted he had not used his litterbox at all.
Taking him to get an ulter-sound examination, the vet found and showed us
where he had tumorous masses in nearly every major organ, plus a severely
enlarged prostate. On catheterization, to relieve his bladder, the
doctor showed us his urine was very bloody. Dr. Hall said that if he
lived through the night with all he had, it'd be a miracle. Well, he
did live, and raised up his little white head the next day...we think he
wanted to "say" final good-byes to Katie, to Dr. Chew, whom he saw that
morning, too, and to all his other friends. Dr. Chew looked at the
ultrasound pictures and reached the same conclusion, that somehow, Falcor
was only alive by sheer will. How sudden it seemed to us, though! Not
having known or even suspected this just-the-day-before bouncing, racing,
dookily chattering ferret had been riddled with so many hidden tumors
(none adrenal), it was really hard for us to say "goodbye" but we just
couldn't let Falcor down ...now he'd begun to wince and cry in the pain
that all his tumors were giving him...and force him to suffer just
because we wanted him to stick around...plainly he was ready. So a
second visit, later in the day, to his good buddy the doctor and Falcor
was eased into a final and releiveing sleep in Wesley's arms...I could
about swear that Falcor Luckdragon was actually grinning his old
devil-may-care ferrety grin. When his little body was brought back to
our house to be wrapped in one of my crocheted angels, I noticed and
pointed out something on the kitchen wall to Wes...the picture of Katie
and Falcor from when they were together, set onto the south-west wall, so
the setting sun was shining through to the opposite wall, where there was
nothing reflective....Falcor's image was ACTUALLY glowing. And it kept
on glowing for five full minutes before going back to the way it was.

Falcor let us know he was still around, in Spirit, in his own, ever
unique, way.
