Ferret Friends of Indian River County

We are having our first meeting (since we lost our meeting place 12 months
ago). This coming Monday November 13, 1995 at 6:30PM at Cindi's Pets in
Vero Beach, FL

Am expecting lots and lots of new ferret owners with lots and lots of
questions. Our talke will be on "Caring for your Ferret" and also the
GREEN VIRUS".

I consider myself somewhat of a knowledgeable person on ferret care but I
don't want to miss anything and I don't just want to talk about all the old
stuff I want to add something new.

So I figured I could come here and ask the FML people to express what they
really would have liked to know when they got their first ferret - and the
answers they found (sorry BIG but I tried so many times to download those
two files you have but they never seemed to be able to find my computer).
[Moderator's note: Email to ferret-request as soon as possible after you
think something didn't work and I'll figure out what happened. BIG]

O.K. guys this is your chance to be a star at our meeting. New and
innovative ideas on how to prevent our beloved carpet sharks from shredding
carpet. What you think the perfect things for a Ferret Cage should be.
What you feel are the most important fact a new ferret owner should know.
This is a chance for the FML's to impact a meeting.

I spent this week gathering those cardboard carpet tubes (those really heavy
ones) and cutting them into sections so that I could give each ferret friend
that came to the meeting a play tube for their ferret. Also I have 80
issues of the FML to give out. I also have various newsletters from Ferret
Clubs throughout the world that the people can look at. We have RICKY
ferret who will be demonstrating nail clipping, ear cleaning, how to give a
bath and Ricky will also be showing off his cage.

Our very own Dr. Brenda Ernest is going to try and be there (this is her
night on call however) and she will be talking about the Green Virus. But
those of you who have experienced that virus - I would sure like to here
from you - pointers and important things to say.

Thanks to all of you before hand for sending your input for the meeting.

I guess BIG won't complain to much if you send them to the FML. But you can
also send them to (and I'm sure BIG would really appreciate it)
