You haven't contacted me!  And I'm not just anybody, I'm somebody!  :o)
 
Five months is a long time, particularly if you've made repeated attempts,
and I'm not sure what reason there could be not to reply.  If you let me
know whom you tried to contact, I'll see if I can find out why you haven't
gotten a response.
 
Ferrets Anonymous is *not* a ferret shelter.  Ferrets Anonymous is *not*
in the business of finding ferrets for people.  (I spend more time
*discouraging* people from getting a ferret--especially from bringing one
in from out of state--than almost anything except legalization.)  I would
not tell anyone by phone or email where they could get a ferret.  But I
would suggest that they go to an FA meeting.
 
Ferrets Anonymous *is* an excellent resource for people who have ferrets,
and those who would like to have ferrets, to learn more about them--for
the ferrets' sakes.

I think this might be your mistake.  Ferrets Anonymous is not "they" and
"them"--it's "we." If your local (or state, for that matter) FA group isn't
living up to your expectations, get involved!  Find out what you can do to
help and do it (it sounds like we could use some help responding to phone
calls and emails for one).  If you don't have a local group, start one--
even if it's just as a point of contact in your area.
 
Like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it.
