I have a problem and I am not sure where to take it from here. A local
pet store Earl May has a local breeder supplying them with ferrets. Here
are the problems:

1. The ferrets were shipped at around 6 weeks but still had the thread
   from their neuter/spaying surgeries.

2. They are getting NO ATTENTION

Now it is 1.8 years later since those kits came in and all three are still
there. The female is a horrendous bitter and bites to cause pain, she
knows no better it is not her fault, she spends all of her days and nights
in the cage and does not interact with humans much.

They are using clay based litter for them and refuse to change because they
sell no other kind of ferret litter.

THEY HAVE NEVER HAD THEIR SHOTS OR VET CHECKS!!!!!!

I have tried everything to get them to a vet even explaining to the manager
what could happen if one were to bite a customer. LAWSUIT & EUTHANASIA.
I have asked many times what are their plans for these ferrets? But get
the I don't know answer.

They have been given ferrets by owners that were no longer able to care
for them and have sold them for full price EVEN BEFORE THEY HAVE SOLD ONE
OF THEIRS.

I am worried. I am afraid of what will become of these guys. All three
bite and are very neglected. All the employees are great when they first
come in but then the novelty wears off and they are returned to their cage.

I am especially worried about the female. She has been a big bitter all
her life even at 6 weeks she drew blood on me and my hubby. What can I do?
Is she too old to be rehabilitated? I am thinking of offering to come in
and teach their employees about ferrets and their behaviors and how to
correct bad behavior. I want to educate them.

I know the personnel of this store, they have asked me ferret related
questions before and even asked if I knew much about rabbits??!!!! Should
they be in the biz of animals I think not?

I would appreciate any information from someone who has dealt with this
before.

Thank you
