Hi Everyone,
Well, the June 19th BBF release is still scheduled to occur. Although
the outcome of the June 5th release appears to be better than expected, it
is possible US Fish and Wildlife released the youngest/healthiest BBFs,
released BBFs that actually killed prairie dogs in the preconditioning
pens, or cleared the release area of coyotes. We are checking into this
now. If this is true, then the ones left for release are the oldest,
slowest, and least able to hunt or run from predators. This would be just
great for the USFWS - then they could dump the rest of the BBFs on the
19th and there wouldn't be any left for us to save this year.
We are going to have TWO SIMULTANEOUS DEMONSTRATIONS on TUESDAY JUNE
13th (from approx 9AM-3PM). They will take place at the DENVER FEDERAL
BUILDING and at the BADLANDS NATIONAL PARK. Andy Abate will lead the
Denver demonstration, and I will lead the Badlands demonstration (Carolyn
Kinsey will be with me). We need a lot of bodies at these demonstrations!
If you can come or know friends or family that could come please let me
know ASAP! We will be taking vans from Denver on Monday to the Badlands
and returning to Denver Tuesday night. This is our chance to stop this
massacre! Please come if you can, and if you can't, please help find
people that can!
