Sulfadimethoxine is the generic name of the drug; various brand names (and
their mfrs) of Sulfadimethoxine are 1) Bactrovet (Pitman- Moore) 2)Sudine
(Beecham) 3) Albon (Roche) 4) Medacide SDM (Medco)

For practical purposes, they are all the same thing. The drug is
available in various forms (pills, powder, liquid), and I'm not sure which
manufacturers supply which forms. If, for example, one of the companies
only supplied the drug only in huge pills designed for use in large farm
animals then that brand name would not be a good choice for use in small
animals such as ferrets, but other than that they are the same.

The above list is from _Upson's_Handbook_of_Clinical Veterinary_
Pharmacology_ copyright 1980, (old!) so some of the company names may have
changed or may have stopped making their product, and there may be other
companies which now make the drug under some other name.
