Greetings!

I got some sad news last Friday...My five-year old male sable, Nick Furet,
has an adrenal tumor. He'd been losing some hair, but otherwise was
energetic as always, with a good appetite. We brought him to the vet
Friday and he found a lump. Then yesterday they did an ultrasound and
found that one of his adrenal glands is severely enlarged and cancerous.
The vet strongly recommended surgery (luckily we'd been saving for a new
computer! ;-I), so we made an appointment for this Thursday for the surgery.

My poor Nick! :-( The only good thing is that he's not in pain, and that
his other adrenal gland seems to be in good shape, plus his general health
is good (he's even gained a little weight--he's now 3.6 pounds).

If anyone has any advice, or if you have a ferret who's come through this
sort of thing with flying colors, please let me know! Many thanks, and
please say an extra prayer for Nick on Thursday, if you can.
