Dear Katy and Chloe,
I know how badly Meg must feel, but she did exactly what she should have
after stepping on Xoie. Many people would assume their ferret was fine if it
was still alive after being stepped on. She obviously cared for Xoie a great
deal if she managed to take her right to the vet even if there were no obvious
signs of problems. It sounds like there probably was some internal bleeding and
Meg took Xoie to the vet to find out if there was anything wrong, such as
internal bleeding. The vet must have either missed something, or the damage at
that time could not be seen. Stepping on Xoie was a terrible accident, but Meg
did all she could to try to make sure Xoie was alright after the accident.
