Dear Deb and others,

I sent mail to all of the Senators with email addresses prior to the committee
hearings. Several times I recieved the auto-request for address, etc. You do
not have to provide this. Your mail still gets through to the senators (I
recieved personal acknowledgements from some of the ones who had this feature
turned on).

For the record:
Senator Lucy Kilea sent the worst form letter back. Good for a laugh.
Senator Leonard was quite nice and informed me that "This issue has been very
controversial over the past couple of years. I understand your position that
ferrets pose no threat to the native wildlife species in California. I also
understand the worries of the opponents of SB55 who contend that the ferrets
may be a danger to the wildlife of California." No mention of biting was
made...his response came the day after the vote, and he had written to tell me
of the bad news.
Senator Campbell, though not on the committe, expressed his support and said
he would vote for it if brought before him on the Senate floor.
Senator Haynes offered his support as well...and mentioned that he supported
us last time as well.
I recieved several other responses...of the more "form" variety from other
senators that I contacted.

Anyway, they are listening. Keep writing!

Angelique
