In reply to the earlier post about the A.R.  Harding book...I have an even
earlier printing of this book from 1915!!  I found this at the annual book
sale on the Penn State campus and paid $1.  I believe this is the original
printing of the book that was mentioned in the previous post.  What is most
interesting is the general attitude portrayed of the "little beasts".  As
this was in the days when ferrets were used for rat extermination and
hunting (and not as pets), it is fascinating to compare the "old vs. new"
wisdom.
 
As for the "Beastmaster" movie..I believe there were two ferrets who
travelled in a pouch carried by the main character of the movie (Mark
Singer).  One ferret does die..sacrificing itself near the end of the movie
to kill a villian (is this a trend?)...but the happy ending shows the female
with a litter of kits!  I always think of the "killer rabbit" scene from
Monty Python whenever I see scenes of ferrets hurling themselves toward
unsuspecting victims!!
 
Beware the flying ferrets!!
