| Yes, I agree that some ideas for toys would be very helpful. My
|little one (I finally named her Trella (pronounced `tray-a') -- it's Spanish
|for `little star') seems to really enjoy a new toy, and then the next time I
|play with her, she's no longer interested. I'd really like to find something
|she can REALLY enjoy so I don't feel so guilty leaving her alone all day. Any
|suggestions?
Another ferret?
I had Maxmillion Fantastic for about six months. He was absolutely
wonderful, but still never got very close or affectionate. When
I got Sagittarius Excalibur (the names are a LONG stroy, but then
again, so are ferrets.. ;-) Max and Sag became immediate friends,
and Max was obviously happier, healthier and sweeter. I highly
suggest it to any single-ferret owner, once you have one, the second
is that big of a deal. But to those who can't - don't feel guilty,
ferrets are so independent, they do fine by themselves also.
As far as other toys, I suggest not buying anything from a store.
It has been my experience that ferrets will be just as interested
in a bottle cap as a squeeze toy from a pet store, and will lose
interest just as fast -- well, actually both my ferrets still enjoy
bottle caps, but don't play with the squeeze toy which even started
to make one of them sick :(
The thing that I have found that works best is just to give them something
new to play with every so often, whatever it may be, or even better,
let them run around your room when you are not there and destroy
everything :)
Enjoy,
Maxmillion Fantastic, Sagittarius Excalibur and Dave
