Wow, EE, ECE, Insulinphoma (sp), adrenal tumors, prolapsed rectums etc etc
etc Why do ferrets seem to have such health problems? Is it that people
with healthy, happy ferrets don't email the list as much? Starting to
worry here. Angel appears to be a happy healthy well adjusted little guy.
Is it too much inbreeding in the pet trade? Too many rescue ferrets that
got a poor start? Just thankful Dr. Williams and all of you are here
should we find we need to tap into that knowledge.

Our heart goes out to all of you with sick fuzzies or who have waved
goodbye from this side of the bridge. Everytime I read of a loss, or of
someone carefully nursing a fuzzbutt back to health I can't help but smile
a little in my heart as my eyes tear up. Think of that little life you
held in your arms and all the joy and giggles you gave it, the squeaky toys
and raisins you shared along the way. Think for just a minute on how much
better that little fuzzbutt had it in life because you were there to fill a
waterbottle, scratch a tummy, wash a hammock. So many do without these
necessities before finding there way to the shelters. Add to that the
games of chase, the jingleballs you've rolled across the floor, the baths
(appreciated or otherwise) and flea combing you've provided. Stop for a
second and congratulate yourself on a job well done. I've no doubt all
that love and care was paid back in full many times over, fuzzbutts are
generous like that, but realize you made a difference in a life and just
how beautiful a thing that is. I feel for those of you with losses, but
I also salute you for making a difference in a little trusting fuzzy life
along the way. That's a beautiful thing.
