For those of you in New England just itching for a good ferret frolic...
you're in luck!

New England Ferret Foster, Education, and Rescue, Inc. (NEFFER) will be
hosting the 2002 "Frolic in the Snow" on February 23, 2002. (We'll be
inside, and currently we have no actual snow on the ground in
Massachusetts, but we like the name anyway!).

The Frolic will be held in Hadley, Massachusetts at the American Legion
Post 271 on Russel Street (Rte 9) in Hadley. The location is easily
accesible from major highways. For directions, visit our website calendar
at http://www.neferrets.org/id17.htm and type in your address to get
personalized directions!

So this is a call for all ferrets to mark their calendars, because on
February 23rd, they'll want to grab their proof of current vaccination,
strap their human's leash firmly around the hand (we don't want any stray
humans at the Frolic; they need to be on their leashes), and come out for
a day of visiting with New England ferret shelters, shopping the vendor
tables, eating hot chili and meatball grinders, and of course playing
games!! There will be the First Out Of The Bag, Un-Pot the Flower, Best
Trick, the Obstacle Course (a huge hit last year), a Costume Contest, and
also the Longest/Shortest Tail, Coolest Markings, and another of last
year's hits, Musical Chairs! We have beautiful ribbons to be awarded to
the winners!

Ferrets are admitted free and pay just $5 for each human they bring with
them (If they have signed their human up for NEFFER membership, they will
be admitted FREE!).

There will be lots to do and lots to see, so if you'd like to break up the
midwinter blues with a Ferret Frolic in Western Massachusetts, mark your
calendars! There will be future reminders posted as the date draws closer
as well as any updates...and we'll let you know what shalters and vendors
will be with us at the Frolic, too!

Proceeds from the Frolic provide shelter, food and vet care for the
homeless ferrets in foster care with NEFFER, Inc., as well as the
independant shelters across New England.

This is a great opportunity to come out and support our shelters by
shopping their tables, and also to have a day of socializing with other
ferret folk!

For more information about NEFFER, Inc., visit our website at

Hope to see lots of New Englanders there!!
