PS

We have also now or then had a ferret who was prone to catching kibble in
the palate (and it seems that some individuals do this more often than
others despite food type or shape). The same individuals have done the
palate sticking problem for pieces of cartilage, too. None of ours in
24 years with ferrets has ever had this result in anything serious,
either, and I have only heard of one person mentioning any palate injury
and that was in the same letter from the same person briefly also
speaking of the only case I have ever heard of a ferret being reported
as having a serious choking incident with kibble.

Oh, speaking of cartilage: since the mouth feel of cartilage tends to
so well appeal to many ferrets we have found that it sometimes can be a
great way to introduce a meat type -- just give a good cooked chunk of
cartilage with a tiny bit of meat.
