Karen, I've used it with little success and great discomfort. I decided it
was just to caustic for ferrets, but this is wholly a personal opinion. I
think it repels humans better!

Pam, it is always a pleasure when certain "authorities" post their
experiences. I believe we have spoken of this "off-line" also and I have
always found our discussions informative and intelligently based. As you
probably know, there where others involved in various "talks" all
accomplishing about the same as the one you refer to. And there are
different perspectives which is only normal. However, I do not share your
dark opinion of possible outcomes and believe that it will take more than
one change in MF Standard Operating Procedure to ameliorate these problems.
I believe the proposal you suggested was a "quick fix" attempt: simple,
straightforward, and wholly unworkable. Nor does the MF issues exclusively
revolve around retired breeders. But it was a start.

I say these things with the deepest respect and admiration for your
continued work and efforts which you have selflessly put forth and I really
hope you do not take offense at ANY of this. Please do not read more into
this than is written as some others habitually do with my posts. I do not
believe anyone has done more for ferret welfare than you. But I also firmly
believe we can do better regarding many of MF's issues.

I look forward to possibly working along with you in the future and all
concerned in accomplishing this. You see, I also believe it will take more
than a few wise and well intentioned individuals.

Kymberlie, I sympathize with your position. I don't think anyone is truly
capable of a completely unbiased opinion, and frankly someone with
absolutely NO personal interest or passion does not compel me. All of us
have motivating factors and to deny them is foolhardy. It is only that
these factors be forthright and uncloaked. Now I know this sounds sorta
blowhardish, but I really have a lot of faith in human nature. We are
equally capable of great deeds and accomplishments as we are of ignorance
and apathy. Your post is a welcomed addition to the table.

best wishes,
until next time,
alphachi
