Gosh, this is one of the saddest issues of the FML that I can recall - lots
of old timers have headed for the rainbow bridge. My heart goes out to all
of you. It's difficult to see these reports trickle in all through the
day... sometimes I have to stop what I'm doing and write an "I'm sorry"
note, or just take a deep breath and regain my composure. I guess I'm
stupidly thinking about the ferret friends who've left us rather than the
cows that have been saved.

Last week I declared a moratorium on ECE bickering and mentioned there'd
be a special "by request" issue on the subject (and on Black Footed Ferret
info). The special issue is still quite tiny. I know one post is still
on the way so I'll wait till next week to make it available.

I've also been thinking of having an occasional special issue containing
nothing but blatantly commercial posts. The policy has always been that the
FML may not be used for such things, other than non-hype one-time or so
mentions. I tend not to be too strict with clubs mentioning membership and
such - I don't really consider that commercial, but I'm sure lots of you
might have ferret-related products to sell and a special issue every couple
of months might be a useful service. So if you'd like to send me any
outright commericial ads, I guess I'll collect them and make them available
eventually. This is, of course, at no charge - even if I wanted to charge,
it wouldn't be appropriate seeing how this is being run from my employer's
mainframe.

Another round of tickles for all our mustelid friends.

Bill
