I'm cc'ing the FML due to the importance of this reply.
 
It sounds as if Tweezil has been bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider.  This
could be very dangerous.  Please have her evaluated by a vet ASAP.  The
"rotten" area is pretty much that- dead flesh, The tech term is tissue
necrosis.
 
Also, if you find more of the spiders it may be a good idea to have the
house "bombed" as they can kill small animals and could make you or a
family member very ill.
 
Just be thankful that it wasn't a Black Widow, I have been bitten by them
twice, got very sick both times, and you can only have the anti-venom once.
