Here's an update on "Alison," the ferret in Jacksonville that was mentioned
in the FML and eventually turned over to Barbara Ludt, who runs the
Northeast branch of our shelter.

I spoke to Barbara this evening and she asked for everyone's prayers for
Alison. Although Alison's adrenal surgery went well, with only her left
adrenal affected and removed, she is not recovering well from surgery.

Dr. Kemmerer, Alison's vet, has the day off tomorrow and has taken Alison
home with her to keep a close eye on things. It seems that Alison is almost
comatose, her mucus membranes are slightly blue and her body is having
trouble keeping her temperature stable.

She's a sweet little girl and we're pulling for her. Please say a prayer
for her and keep her in your thoughts.

For the ferrets,
Mike
