Some of you in the group might know me. I used to run The Ferret House
in Owosso. I have been helping Lori out with her bunch for some time
now. Through the grape vine I have found out about a breeder who has
decided to get out of the business. Some of you may know the situation.
Anyway, I know that this breeder is not in Michigan but I just can't
sit here knowing that this person is keeping these ferrets OUTSIDE
in wire cages in this horrible weather. With poop piled high in the
corners and pretty much no shelter from the wind and cold. They don't
even know what a blanket or hammock is. I have to imagine that their
water freezes within a few minutes and even if it doesn't - their out
in the cold trying to stay warm - DRINKING COLD WATER - that makes me
cold just thinking about it. They only have straw to keep them warm.
One ferret that I know of has already died - I wonder how many will
freeze to death tonight?!

Anyway, my point to this whole thing is that I know some other people
have rescued some of these poor little babies but we just are not
getting them out of there fast enough - within a few weeks here they
will be having litters (they are already breeding - have been for about
three weeks) We'll be right back to where we starting, number wise, we
NEED YOUR HELP and the help of everyone that you know. WE NEED YOU to
donate and save a ferret!!!!! We have enough money right now to save
about 8 more ferrets. Help us save more! We already have someone lined
up to help us take care of them, we have vet care lined up and I have
no doubt that they will be great ferrets (what ferrets aren't
great?)and will be able to be adopted within a short amount of time.
