It's always a good idea to take precautions, however, this one is not
much to worry about.
 
The virus comes in two parts - the part that attaches itself to JPEG
files CANNOT DO ANY HARM BY ITSELF.  To spread the infection, your
computer must already be infected with the second part, which reads the
first part out of any infected JPEG files.  Infected JPEG files are easy
to spot, as the picture will be corrupted.
 
Supposedly this virus has not been released on the internet, and was only
sent to the virus labs by its creators.  Researchers are most concerned
about the innovation this represents, not the virus itself.
 
Again, it pays to take all reasonable precautions, but this particular
one is not (yet) a threat.
