Hello all. :)

I was just curious if anyone had ever heard of a ferret being called a
"fitchet" before? Yesterday I went to a local dog show and they were
selling FERRET toys (they looked more like black-footed weasels to me,
but whatever..) for really cheap. They had a small and a large one, and
I bought one of each, which is all I could afford. Anyway, on the inside
of the big one, it had a little information about ferrets (actually
truthful information) and it mentioned that ferrets were often called
fitchets.

And in my 4+ years of ferret experiences, never have I heard/seen that
word. Any ideas?
