Smokey went to the vets last night for his distemper vaccination. He was
premedicated and all went well. That's the good news. The bad news is
that he needs another surgery. He just had insulinoma/left adrenal surgery
by Dr. Weiss on Dec.29th and next monday, he will have an abcess/growth?
removed from his anal gland by Dr. Schaupp. Does anyone have experience
with this? We won't be sure what it is until the biopsy results come back.
He is miserable now. The exam was rough and his poor little heiney bled.
He will be on antibiotics until monday to see what happens. It's
strange--this is the first time in 2 years he's been healthy enough to be
vaccinated and now we find this. I hope he's in good enough shape for the
shows. He just loves the attention! Please keep Smokey in your prayers.
He's been through alot and he's such a sweet old boy.
