My ferret Cedric has only one tattoo in his right ear as well.  At the pet
shop, they say that he is from Marshall Farms, though I don't see that name
anywhere on his papers.  He does have a "Ferret Guarantee" certificate with
an adress in Wolcott, NY, which I think is about where Marshall Farms is
located, I think.  As for only one tattoo vs. the usual two, I have no idea.
