Those were some good tips offered to travel with your ferrets and a few
to add would be:
Seat belt in the cage or carrier, especially if propped up on a riser.

Freeze home water in several water bottles to act as ice for your
cooler and offer drinking water as needed.

Besides water, bring food enough for several days for an out of town
trip, this will help in cases of breakdowns needing lengthy repairs in
a a strange place.

Lavender oil is a wonderful calmative, tiny dabs on their bedding
before travel will also soothe them.

Talk to your travel protection planner to be sure that in the event of
a breakdown that they WILL still offer you transport with your pets.

Allot extra time for the inevitable conversations with people curious
about your fuzzy companions!

Making several short trips to fun places with your ferrets for outdoor
excursions (instead of just to the vet) will help get them used to
traveling so calmatives won't be needed.

Double check before leaving home that you packed their innoculation
records and have their rabies tags as well as harnesses and leashes.

Double check you've brought along any meds they need.

It helps to make a check list and have two different people check it
over.

Cheers,
Kim
