    Having ferrets can be a lot like having a very active toddler -- both
get into **everything**!  What you said about Pretzel (a.k.a.  the future
engineer <VBG>) reminds me of my future "garbologists".  Needless to say,
for the sake of safety -- as well as aesthetics -- having an extra tall
trash container with lid is a necessity.
    As you probably know from experience/reading the other notes here,
ferrets tend to chew rubber, vinyl, and related materials.  Materials like
the erasers you mentioned in your note, if ingested, may cause a blockage.
Anyway, your soooo right about having to keep items not meant for ferrets
out of their reach.  Perhaps the positive side to this is we ferret
guardians tend to have cleaner homes than most other people <G>!
