What you said about Pretzel (a.k.a. the future engineer <VBG>) reminds me of my future "garbologists". Needless to say, for the sake of safety -- as well as aesthetics -- having an extra tall trash container with lid is a necessity. As you probably know from experience/reading the other notes here, ferrets tend to chew rubber, vinyl, and related materials. Materials like the erasers you mentioned in your note, if ingested, may cause a blockage. Anyway, your soooo right about having to keep items not meant for ferrets out of their reach.
