I have a humping ferret.  He had one adrenal removed also.
 
I was told he probably was humping because his other adrenal was affected.
I understand this is not uncommon.  I am not removing the other.  When he
gets too annoying, I just pick him off of his true love of the moment, and
play with him until he forgets what he was doing.  Or I put him in the big
comfy cage.
 
Mine is not urinating or sprinkling all over, having trouble urinating, or
losing any fur.  I would see the vet if he were.
