What a wonderful Idea!.. wish i had thought about that when we had our VBS.
 
You can tell them all the things you mention and also how much time and
care and money goes into them.  if they want a comment to own then and to
get them from (shelters).... but as for God..
 
God Had Noah build his Ark.  and then brought the animals 2x2 right..  so
you can use this theme and tell them that God Knew we would be loving
toward his critters and that we NEEDED them to keep our heads togethert and
to learn responablity.  and to show how love and care and be cared for by
ferrets who can love uncondionly like we are to be toward other animal's
and humans
