Just a word to say... that as of yesterday, my little girl who has rat-tail
for the past 4-5 months, has declared it to be "over". :-)
 
She has a healthy white/brown/grey coat of hair now growing from her tail,
starting at the tip and working it's way towards the base.  Almost
overnight...
 
If yours hasn't started yet, take them outside for a walk in the cold.
(mine have an indoor outdoor cage, so they are very aware of the seasons)
