RE: http://www.vetheart.com/ (heart info from vets)

Hi Suki

I know you sent me this site when we were talking about my Zak man, who
has since left for the Bridge. Just thought I'd tell you that I was NOT
impressed with them in the least. I wrote a comprehensive, data-filled
letter, after receiving the link from you, asking if they had any thoughts
on Zak and his problem with CHF.

I got a very basic, almost canned sounding, response that I should take
him to Cornell University for an MRI to get a real diagnosis!! (The
e-mail was about 6 lines in length.) I might add that I live only 45
minutes from Cornell and their vet clinic. This was 3 days before Zak
actually died. I couldn't believe my eyes. I don't think these guys are
ferret vets as I'd described to a tee what my vet (who is probably one of
the best ferret vets in NYS) had done, seen and prescribed. There was a
problem with one of his meds and I was simply asking if there were
something else we could use in it's place.

I wouldn't take a ferret to Cornell for love nor money. They denounced
Dr. Weiss as a crackpot; use outdated insulinoma surgeries; and charge
over a thousand dollars to boot. My dog/cat vet is a Cornell grad and
he's admitted to me that they never even covered ferrets during his
schooling!

I don't know...maybe you've had good luck with this online heart vet. If
so, I'm pleased. Just thought I'd let you know.

Please give to Aleutian Disease research...the ferret you save may be your
own. http://www.geocities.com/russiansmom
