I'd be more concerned with getting back into the US with the ferret than I
would getting into Mexico.  Bringing animals into this country isn't the
easiest thing to do.  She needs to consult with Customs before she even
considers leaving here with a ferret IMHO.  I've spoken with several
people who live in Canada and there was concern from there.  I must admit
that I do not know the outcome however, living fairly near the border, I
do know they're very fussy and after September 11th, getting into the US
is even more difficult.
