I agree.  I've always thought it looked like a hard way to get a little
water.  I give mine a bottle with a bowl underneath.  I change the bowl
twice a day since it tends to get little food bits dropped into it.  I
have some who prefer the bottle and some who prefer the bowl.  Now,
everyone is happy!
