Condolences to those with lost, sick, or angeled bat-biters...

As a matter of fact, yes, I do. They can tow anything, up to (and
including) rottweiler dogs (search the archives for previous posts).
They can also steal things from places where you never thought they could
get to (the top shelf of the bookcase, your car, the neighbor's porch,
etc.) and things you didn't think could be stolen (your heart, page 3 of
the President's speech, 318 miles on the odometer of your car). Ferrets
are quite accomplished in thievery.

The best way to minimize your losses (and soothe the ire of those that
figure out it was *your* ferret that stole their valuables!), is to find
as many of their "hidey-holes" as possible. Check these areas regularly,
so that, even if you didn't notice that the tax collector for your area
hasn't come around in quite some time, you may still discover him,
stuffed under your bed, being fed the occasional raisin to keep his
spirits up.

NOTE: I'd recommend checking these areas when the ferrets aren't
watching. Even if the ferret that sees you isn't the one doing the
stealing, that ferret would have no problem telling on you to the one
who *is* doing the stealing. There is no rath like that of a ferret
scorned! Just read the posts about the weasly revenge posted recently!
Stealing back things that were previously stolen from you is NOT
considered a good excuse by most ferrets.
