The Bossier City infant who had four toes gnawed by a pit bull puppy has
been discharged from the hospital but remains in state custody.

Three of the 4-month-old girl's toes were bitten off and a fourth had
to be removed, Bossier City spokesman Mark Natale said. Authorities
believe the couple's 6-week-old puppy is responsible. A ferret also was
in the house.
