Many of you on the FML receive STAR*'s newsletter, and know that it is not
just about shelter and rescue, but about all ferrets. I also know that
there are several clubs out there that would like to have a newsletter, but
can't find the time, material, or an editor to do one.

I have an idea / proposal:

Certain ferret organizations like Legion of Superferrets require clubs
forming under their banner to charge a membership fee high enough that it
covers club dues and subscription service to the LOS newsletter. STAR*
would like to make this offer:

If your ferret club is small, just starting out, or in need of a newsletter,
let STAR* help. STAR* will offer you a page in it's newsletter for your
club's events, meeting notes, whatever - if you wish to subscribe your
club's membership annually to STAR*. The subscription fee of STAR* is small
in comparison to other newsletters, usually half that of most club
memberships. This will also help clubs see what other clubs are doing for
fund raisers, shelter operations, etc. Your club does not have to worry
about putting a newsletter together, gathering reprintable information,
coming up with unique articles, folding, stapling, or mailing! If your club
is small, it probably costs more than STAR*'s annual fee to create a
quarterly newsletter and mail it for each person.

STAR* will add your club's membership to it's mailing list (which is
separate and very private compared to the STAR* Resource listing) and mail
quarterly issues out as is presently scheduled. I have not missed a
deadline yet! All your club needs to provide is the club news BEFORE the
quarterly deadline (one month before issue), and payment and mailing
information each time there is a new member. I can even mark mailing labels
to notify that a reader's annual club membership is needing renewal. All
subscriptions to FFZ's are in envelopes, at no added charge.
