to Lindley Garner:
How long have you had Idgie and where did she come from? Was she in a
shelter:?a pet store?

I'm not a vet, but the "grainy" looking stool you speak of smacks of ECE.
The fact that you say it always has a little bit of mucous-looking material
and that it's hard to separate from urine sometimes, sounds so familiar -
I've seen these symptoms with other ECE ferrets.

The graining-looking stuff apparently is undigested food - that's the way
it's been explained to me. This becomes apparent after the explosive
diarrhea and the oozing green stuff.

It's quite possible that it could be due to something else and maybe
Dr Williams will have some thoughts about it. I raise ECE only because I've
had it, those symptoms definitely go along with it, and since she's new to
your household, it's a strong possibility.
