Hi!
I need some input on this(or is it maybee perpective i need?) i am so angry
at the way things just seem to happen when i go to the Vet. this was the
last time we have been at this particular Vet, I brought Liza in becouse
she went to the corner several times within 10minutes without actually
producing anything, i got concerned that she may have an urinary tract
infection and even tho i knew she had been acting normal in every sense i
did'nt want to risk an infection to get serious and affect her kidneys,
so there we are, waiting for over 20 minutes(i do understand they can be
bussy) and when i finally talk to the Vet he tells me that he cant perform
an examination as she has to produce a urin sample, so we agree that i
should leave her there for a coupple of hours and let her do the rest, we
also agree that if she has'nt produced a urinsample by the time i get back,
i would to take her home and bring the sample later. when i came to pick
her upp less than 2 hours later, she was stressed out and klimbed upp on
my shoulder and was very tense, i knew she had bitten the Vet and joked a
little about her behaving as if SHE had been the one being hurt. i took her
home and came back the next morning to find out the results and pay my bill,
when he told me nothing was wrong with the sample except for having alittle
blood, wich was natural since they drew the sample through injection! i
was astonished! he quickly left to attend to other matters and as i
temporarirly had lost my speach, i was served the bill! $61 i wrote a check
not even thinking... i was numb! on my way home i decided to stop payment
on the check, first of all I did Not authorize any procedures, i would not
have approved the maner in wich they obtained the sample,( it was not
necessary, it caused her unnecessary pain and distress, and there is always
a risk of actually CAUSING a bladder infection!) but then i was never asked,
nor informed when i picked her upp, there was no emergency, and we had
agreed on something different than that, yet he is charging me $25 for that
consutation/examination and $36 for the analyzis! I am outraged for the
lack of consideration, and the fact that they went ahead and did something
to My Ferret without my approval or even my knowledge, they call it standard
procedure wich i am not about to argue, but how about standard procedure in
informing pet owners about what they think should be done? and consult with
owners and get authorization?

is it just me?? i had a similar experience with them when Truls went in for
surgery a month ago, but this was supposed to be a very simple thing in wich
Liza was expected to perform on her OWN!!

thanks for bearing with me and i would be grateful to receive any comments..
Josephine
