I received a twenty-five dollar gift certificate from Brian Coffey for
something that I wrote that went into the ferret book.  I donated $100 to
GCFA, and also donate to the local cat and dog shelters and FAIR, and
care for numerous feral animals and an assortment of wild birds, so this
certificate will be put to good use.  THANK YOU!
 
PS: My feral cat has a friend on the porch-large black shaggy cat.  My 20
pound male first chases the cat away, then calls it back, and then they
talk to each other in these bizarre talky voices on the porch.  Cat insists
on going out on nights like tonight when it is pouring rain.  He snuggles
with this other cat to keep it warm.
 
He was protecting two kittens one winter when he was living on my porch by
sleeping with them every night and making sure they ate.  I realize that
I am projecting his motives.  However, I believe that he is a remarkable
animal.
 
Cat could kill Sunny with a bite or slash.  But he allows Sunny to be the
alpha animal in our home.  Cat was as gentle as could be all the while
Sunny was a baby, and gets treated like Mudd in return by Sunny.  I praise
him all the time for what he puts up with.  Ferrets are an indignity.  The
poor lug.  My guess is that when he goes to heaven, he will not be visiting
the ferret section.
