[To the Editor:] I think you are seriously missing one important point.
People become attached to their pets and grieve for them when the pets die.
Pets can be loved, and it is not appropriate to make a mockery of people's
need to say "good-bye" to the ones they love.  Also, you must respect that
strong emotions exist after a painful death, and you cannot judge a person's
actions during that time.  So maybe these people aren't as "extremist" as it
seems!!!
