Jean hit the nail on the head when she commented that ferret owners are a
passionate lot!

I can remember, some years ago, that BIG, after a particularly emotional
debate, asked for for members' input on whether or not they would like
to see the FML more heavily moderated. I, for one, replied that to
take away the option of emotional debate would render the FML without a
"soul". This is an opinion I hold to this day. I don't know how other
members voted, but it is heart-warming to see the FML not overly
constricted on debate.

Surely, as adults, we can realise that the need to vent and to let our
true thoughts be known is a basic human right.

I remember receiving a ton of e-mails appologising on behalf of NJ for
some comments by some folk. Not necessary! I know, as we all should,
that there are many different points of view and we are each entitled
to our own.

Sukie and I share wildly different views on ferret husbandry and yet,
behing the scenes, are friends. (I hope one day to get her feeding
her ferrets on a more natural diet. :-))

My wish for the FML in the future is that all of us should be able to
feel that we can give our opinion without being made to feel bad about
it, but to be able to also hear the views of those that disagree!!!

For the Ferrets,
Shirley
