trick to getting drops in

Hello All:
 
My little Gos has ear mites and I have to put 2 to 3 drops of medicine in
his ear.  Help!  It's hard to see when you're putting it in so I think I
put none in one and too much in the other.  I don't want to flood his
little ear.  Please give me advice how you do this.
